This is easily the cutest thing I’ve seen since…forever. I just wept. The only thing that might make this even cuter is to throw a human baby into the mix somehow, but that would just push it over the top and all our eyes would probably burn from the radiating cuteness. Oh, it can happen.
I don’t even recommend clicking through to the news story because with all its bland text and black and whiteness the story can’t hold a candle to a dog nursing tiger cubs! I might get this tattooed on my body to remember it forever.
I could see this story translate into two things:
1.) Disney mega-hit, preferrably live action with celebrity voice-over, not animation. Come on, you know right now they’re scrambling to hash out a plot: tiger mom stolen by evil carnival under the cover of night, cubs orphaned but adopted by ragtag dog and pup, dog and cubs head out on a cross-country voyage to find tiger mom and along the way befriend a donkey named Bruce, some chickens, a lady truck driver, and a narcoleptic chipmunk, the whole rag tag bunch eventually crashing the carnival in dramatic style, reuniting mom and cubs and winning the hearts of the fans, instantly vaulting the crew into the national spotlight and a featured showcase in Cirque du Soleil. I see this making tens of hundreds of dollars.
2.) Horrible indie rock band. I can hear the conversation in my head already: “Dude, ‘Dog Nurses Tigers’ is like totally the best band name ever.” “Yeah, and we could be like early Archers of Loaf meets Yo La Tengo, with some hints of Fugazi, four-part harmonies, and Kraftwerk.” “Dude, ‘Dog Nurses Tigers’ is gonna be huge.”
