My Pen! This has got to be one of the top clips from Kids in the Hall, which is saying A LOT, because they’ve produced more great clips than a, uh…barber? Yikes, that went no where.
Bruce McCulloch, aka Brucio, is my personal favorite Kid and he shines in this hilarious bit, awash with his minute facial quirks and peculiar body movements, perhaps the most subtle yet expressive physical comedy I’ve seen.

There are certain things in this world that beg parody, and magic is pretty high up on that list. Be it Siegfried and Roy (pre-mauling mind you), Copperfield and his awe-inspiring hair, the dull narcissism of David Blaine, or the “Las Vegas Magic” in the vein of Criss Angel, the over-the-top theatrics and flamboyant stars practically parody themselves in performance. But thanks to the dudes at Human Giant, we now have an actual video parody that in many ways could pass as legit. It’s scary and it’s worth watching again and again: The Illusionators.
