Thanksgiving Pageant through the lens of Strangers with Candy

Of the things I miss, like parachute pants, the Strangers with Candy t.v. series is way up there with its absurd brand of humor and freakish characters. Take a peek at how they handle a Thanksgiving pageant for a brief example.
Short-lived, as often the best comedies are, this deranged series skewered the melodrama of those after-school features we all grew up with. Spanning a run of only three years, this show had a cast of some of the funniest folks around.
There’s Amy Sedaris, brother of writer David (and the funnier sibling in my opinion) playing the central and unforgettable role of Jerri Blank. And if you like swearing, as I do, Check into her character “piglet” sometime.
And Stephen Colbert, now tickling America’s funny bone nightly on The Colbert Report.
And Paul Dinello, who shines as the art teacher and has some of the best facial expressions imaginable.
I will someday post some sketches from Exit 57, or see some here, which was another early and relatively obscure Comedy Central series that featured the comedic talents of all 3 aforementioned Strangers.
And who’s that making a cameo as an audience member? Our pal Will Ferrell. Nice clapping.
