Let’s see: a comedic musical montage from the State featuring the Breeders ‘cannonball’ and preaching the pleasure of pants. Yeah, pretty easy to see why I was obsessed with watching this way back when the State was still on MTV and I was still in short…pants.

    up until a couple of years ago, when youtube filled in many a gaps of my sketch comedy education, i would kick myself for not taking note and appreciating shows like the state and upright citizens brigade; like i had seen it all already thanks to kids in the hall, snl and in living colour. i am slowly but surely making my way down the gem-strewn highway that is mr show and now, tim & eric, which if you haven’t already youtube-d (look, now it’s a verb!!), their other-other new project, tom goes to the mayor. freakin’ genius fun with michael ian black making the occasional cameo. can i get my entire skeleton replaced with funny bones? love, turo
