highlights of the Little Britain USA series premiere

It was with great anticipation that I watched the Little Britain USA series premiere last night on the HBO. Thankfully, not much has changed with the new incarnation, other than the american soil is providing ample new terrain for more characters and bizarre scenarios, meaning we can bank on some seriously twisted humor every Sunday night (and in reruns) from the minds of David Walliams and Matt Lucas. Here are a couple of highlights -

Man arrested for 1,000th Time: A real-life Ronnie Dobbs!

This is easily my favorite headline of the day. Man arrested for the 1,000th time! For real:

I’m trying to think what I’ve even done 1,000 times that’s as impressive…Oh yeah, I did 1,000 push-ups and ab crunches about an hour ago. Sometimes when the burn leaves my body I start to forget.

What pleases me most about this news story is that it’s seemingly ripped from one of my favorite sketch comedy shows: Mr. Show. One name you need to know: Ronnie Dobbs. He, of course, was a character played by David Cross and was the most-arrested man in their fictional Cops knock-off show “Fuzz”.
