this was the first thing I saw with Fred Armisen, way back when they had something called VHS tapes, and I’ve probably told at least, I don’t know, 6 people since then about how hilarious it is. The premise: show up at an open tap dance audition with no formal training and see how far you can make it. Oh, and film it with a hidden camera.

I was thinking to myself earlier that I need to get some Fred Armisen on this blog. Not so much what you’ll see on SNL, but some of his stand-up bits and what not. I’ll start the hunt for some of his fringe material, but for now, here’s an all too brief clip of Armisen as Billy Smith, native american comic (which actually did make it on SNL!).
