I play in a Sunday softball beer league and as usual, relating to the world only through the recollection of sketch comedy bits, I attempted to take the edge off a tough loss to the Portland Mercury by telling our pitcher Charles all about the wonderful Kids in the Hall sketch where Buddy Cole, one of Scott Thompson’s best characters, saves the day for his lesbian softball squad in grand fashion.
If only I could have hit like Buddy. And worn a uniform that exposed my nipples. I’d be the best softball player in the world.

For as consistently excellent and bizarre as the Kids in the Hall and there splendid cast of characters was through the years, I have to say many of my favorite moments were when Bruce was flying solo. His one-man bits were every bit as funny and odd as when the whole group was in action. Here are some great moments:
1.) Addressing the Bike Tire Thief
2.) Fan Mail
3.) On America
4.) The Dog For Whom I Feel Nothing
Kids in the Hall
5.) A Drum Machine and Dancing
